So much fun!
Today is the whipple procedure for my mom….
Say prayers, send good thoughts, whatever it is you do.
Dog ran straight through the screen door yesterday. So we spent all kinds of time buying a new door, getting the old one off, and tomorrow we will hang the new one… maybe. :)
I had the most delicious steak that I cooked on the grill- I am the new grill master. Love it. Tomorrow kebabs and definitely grilled veggies.
I am down 11 lbs in a month…pretty darn stoked about that. Hopefully I can keep up the momentum.
When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves.” ~William Arthur Ward
I wrote emails, I made phone calls, I facebooked, I twittered… I wanted as many people as possible to join our team for a walk that will help support pancreatic cancer research. (My mom has been battling since Dec 10, 2010.)
Is it unrealistic to think that people walk 2 miles or donate $5?
I didn’t think so… close friends blatantly ignored my pleas. I have to get over it. But I am disappointed. I was throwing up an hour before the walk, but I got myself there and did it. I am proud of my mom and family for doing the walk. But my friends? Many of them disappointed me.
So I was chatting with my mom about it. She asks me- Are those people who disappointed you true friends? Well… It definitely deserves some thinking time. Sad but it may be time to move on.
I was able to get through the walk on Saturday, but then I for sure had some sort of bug… so I slept the rest of the day and until 11 on Sunday. I was able to bike for about 40 minutes n Sunday. So that was great! However, I MUST.BUY.BIKE.SHORTS….. eweee did I notice the difference!
I never knew the wonderfulness that bike shorts is…until I didn’t have them….
Considering my life is a huge amount of crazy with taking Mom to the hospital everyday it will be difficult. But I am planning to do the 5 k and paleo for the month of june… (with 125)
Anyone else doing it?
Cook your vegetables in bacon grease. BOOM.
Tomorrow they will burn nerves in my back….an outpatient procedure, but should provide great relief for my back pain. My hope is that I can again become a person that exercises regularly without crying from back pain.
