uplifting news
We went to see a doctor today in the transplant department at St. Luke’s… he said mom is a good candidate for the whipple surgery. We see the oncologist tomorrow and hopefully can get the chemo started asap.
I did not get to eat breakfast this morning as I was rushing out the door to Janesville. Then rushing off to the hospital. So when we did finally eat we had breakfast at ihop… (I had 2 pancakes w/syrup no butter…heavenly, and 2 pieces of bacon, hashbrowns (1/2), and scrambled eggs (1/2).
Some of the calories were on the menu, and man o man was it eye opening. I did not choose one of the “smart start” choices, because they came with turkey bacon and we all know if you are going to have bacon the amount of calories that you save, etc is neglible….so go for the good stuff. So that is what I have eaten today…and it is not 7:20 and I am about to eat some cooked chicken.
I did break a bone in my foot…one tiny little bone. :(
2011 The questionable year ahead…
Well, with mom having pancreatic cancer life is way up in the air. I feel like this is a big kick in the ass to lose this weight. I know that it cannot be very time consuming though- because I need to devote my time to her and my children.
So I signed up for weight watchers…going to do points plus. Looking forward to having a plan. Going to wear my armband thing to help with the calorie counting…
Here are the New Year’s Resolutions:
1) Donate blood at least twice during 2011.
2) Get below 160 lbs.
3) Take the kids camping.
4) Take the kids biking. (On different trails than we have done before.)
I have a few more thoughts, but this is all I have for now…
hi, please reblog this so i can find more people that want to be in the Healthy Weightloss Directory !
Didn’t know there was one. But, I’m in. Great idea.
Neat :)
I’m in!
life does suck occasionally…
I have dropped out of the biggest loser contest…
because
my mom has cancer… a very very bad cancer.
I am trying desperately to not lose it 24-7.
I am still hoping to go to Phoenix and walk the half marathon in January.
However, tomorrow I get another shot in my back- in preparation for cauterizing the nerves in my back…which will hopefully help with the pain?
Times are tough here in my world.
Diet
Warm coke and saltines…
change of plans
ah yes… tumblr was down so I wrote and pasted… and now I am home with the flu… so thus my plans have changed. I’m enjoying the quiet and watching Regis and Kelly…one of my favorite indulgences.
So I did not get to run with Ray last night, and I am guessing a class at the gym tonight is out…but I’ll wait and see how I feel.
Kevin will be here this weekend. He is lucky enough to be joining me at the company Christmas party…should be interesting.
